Enabling Multicast for Address Objects over a VPN Tunnel

To enable multicast support for address objects over a VPN tunnel:

Enable multicast support on your SonicWall security appliance:

Navigate to Firewall Settings > Multicast.

In the Multicast Snooping section, click on the Enable Multicast check box.

In the Multicast Policies section, select the Enable reception for the following multicast addresses.

Select from the drop-down menu, Create new multicast address object....

Create a multicast address object as described in Creating a Multicast Address Object Group.

Enable multicast support on the VPN policy for your GroupVPN.

Navigate to the VPN > Settings page.

In the VPN Policies table, click on the Configure icon to edit your GroupVPN’s VPN policy. The VPN Policy dialog displays.

Click the Advanced tab.

In the Advanced Settings section, select the Enable Multicast check box.

Click OK.
