Configuring Content Filtering Policies
The Policies page enables you to add advanced content filtering functionality to one or more SonicWALL appliances by choosing specific content to filter from 64 different content categories.
IPv4 and IPv6 IP addresses are accepted/displayed in the policies page.
To configure a policy, complete the following steps:

Click the Policies tab.

In the center pane, navigate to Content Filter > Policies.

Click Add New Policy.

In the Policy tab, enter a name for the policy.

Click the URL List tab.

Click the Settings tab.

Complete the following in the Custom List Settings.
a
None—none of the allowed domain lists are referred to when content is filtered.
Global—uses a list of allowed domains that was created in the Content Filtering > Custom List page.
Per Policy—uses the allowed domain list that is created in the Custom List tab that is part of the this “Add New Policy” configuration.

None—none of the forbidden domain lists are referred to when content is filtered.
Global—uses a list of forbidden domains that was created in the Content Filtering > Custom List page.
Per Policy—uses the forbidden domain list that is created in the Custom List tab, which is part of the this “Add New Policy” configuration.

None—none of the keyword lists are referred to when content is filtered.
Global—uses a list of keywords that was created in the Content Filtering > Custom List page.
Per Policy—uses the keyword list that is created in the Custom List tab that is part of the this “Add New Policy” configuration.

Under Safe Search Enforcement Settings, select Enable Safe Search Enforcement to enable the safe browsing options for certain search engines like Google and Yahoo. Safe Search is a setting that filters out explicit adult content from web and image search results.

If you want to use the YouTube for Schools feature, click Enable YouTube for Schools and enter the desired School ID. This filters content per your school ID that dictates which content is acceptable and which is not.

Click the Custom List tab. If you selected “Per Policy” as the source of allowed domains, forbidden domains, or keywords, this is where you specify which domains and keywords are allowed/forbidden.

In the Content text-field, enter the allowed domain, forbidden domain, or keyword, and then click Add. This adds your entry into the respective list. You can add several domains or keywords at the same time by separating your entries with a semicolon “;”.

To remove a domain or keyword from the lists, select the desired row, and then click Remove. You can also remove all the domains or keywords from a list by clicking Remove All.
When you are finished, click OK.
The scheduler displays:

Select Immediate or specify a future date and time.

Click Accept.
